About Me

I'm Steven Palfreyman, an avid learner and fiddler of everything IT.  However, I am now concentrating my full attention to gaining knowledge in the wonderful world of Networking.

I have been in the IT (Information Technology) field for around eight years now, working my way up from Computer lab technician, to desktop services, and now into Infrastructure Services.  As of this editing, I have been in Infrastructure for three weeks.  It's wonderful to see how patience, diligence, and time spent studying have paid off.

Though I have just started, I feel that I have learned a lot in my day to day interaction with my new position and everything Cisco.  I am currently in a position where I work mostly with the voice side of the infrastructure dealing with Unity, UCCX, UCCM, VOIP, and call accounting.  I do have the keys to the data side of which I will use to better update my skills and knowledge as I advance myself through the many Cisco certifications.

Networking is my future!  I am currently attending Western Governors University obtaining my bachelors degree in Information Technology with an emphasis in Security.  I will then move on and receive my Masters in Information Security and Assurance.  What really interested me about this school, is the fact that while obtaining a degree, I will be obtaining numerous IT certifications (nine or more) that will aid in my future prosperity and help me on my way to receiving my CCIE certification.

Certifications that I have received so far:
